'The softest things of the world

Override the hardest things of the world

That which has no substance

Enters into that which has no openings

From this I know the benefits of unattached actions

The teaching without words

The benefits of actions without attachment

Are rarely matched in the world'

This passage from Lao Tsu's 'Tao Te Ching' epitomises the art of Tai Chi Chuan. This martial art emphasises softness overcoming hardness, sensitivity and awareness of one's own and others intentions and the principle of Wu Wei, or the action of no action. These principles lie at the heart of the practice of Tai Chi Chuan.

We are a not-for-profit club aiming to teach and practice authentic Tai Chi Chuan. Our class fee is $10 per lesson (advanced classes) but if you cannot afford this you are still very welcome to join us. Our aim is to promote Tai Chi Chuan for health through calmness of mind. All money is returned to the club for the benefit of our members. We can also teach you self defense through this art if you are interested. Either way the practice of Tai Chi Chuan offers the opportunity to live a calm and balanced life.
